Races of the 6th FIS World Cup Ski Jumping Ladies in Ljubno are fast approaching. On 11 and 12 February, fans of women's ski jumping will be able to enjoy two spectacular days of ski jumping as athletes aim for the podium while sliding down the new and first such in-run track in Slovenia.

It will be hard to surpass the historic results achieved in the previous season, but organisers of the 6th FIS World Cup Ski Jumping Ladies event in Ljubno are more than ready. The same goes for Slovenian ski jumpers, who are looking forward to the Ljubno competitions the most. Organisers are expecting 40 athletes from more than 14 countries to take part in the competition. For the first time, Kazakhstan will also compete in the Ljubno event.

The biggest novelty of this season is the new integrated ice-ceramic in-run track, suitable for jumping in the winter as well as in the summer. It is the first of its kind in Slovenia. Ljubno is ready for the competition, the weather provided us with great conditions, and there is more than enough snow, also in the reserve. The Ljubno Organising Committee, representatives of the Ljubno Municipality, and all the others included in the organisation of the event have thought everything through down to the very last detail and arranged everything necessary for such a prestigious event as two World Cup races.

Credit for the excellent organisation of the race needs to be given also to almost 200 volunteers from Ljubno and its vicinity. The organisation of the Ljubno event includes more than 500 people.

The Ljubno competitions are also a marvellous family event, providing a rich entertainment programme for kids. In the heated kids' tent, children are entertained by several animators, they can treat themselves to the delicious emperor's mess made by the Jezeršek House of Culinary Arts, and drink some hot tea. The bravest kids will be able to test their jumping skills on the mini Planica Franci Petek ski jump. The kids will also be able to enjoy themselves while playing on the snow and marvelling at the ice sculptures of the Land of Ice.

Ljubno is regarded as the most spectacular event in women's ski jumping, since, according to President of the Ljubno Organising Committee, Rajko Pintar, the number of visitors in Ljubno is higher than at all other FIS World Cup Ski Jumping Ladies events put together. Last year, there were more than 15 thousand fans cheering for our Slovenian eagles under the Rajhovka peak, while 685,000 viewers watched the live coverage of both events on TV SLO.

Women's ski jumping in Ljubno is an event worth visiting and watching live. Our devilish Slovenians appreciate the support of each fan immensely. Tickets for the event are available at all Eventim sales points. The competitions in Ljubno contribute greatly to the number of tourists coming to the valley. At this moment, all lodging capacities in the vicinity of Ljubno and the Logarska dolina Valley all the way to Mozirje are fully booked.

This year's live coverage of the races will be handled by RTV Slovenija with no less than 12 cameras. All those who will not attend the events live, can watch the girls compete on RTV Slovenija or Eurosport.

More details on the Ljubno event will be presented by the organisers and the Ski Association of Slovenia at a press conference on Monday, 6 February 2017.
